Recently I shared an old family recipe with some friends. They were so impressed and amazed at my culinary knowledge, I thought I would post the recipe here.
- Dead Possum, Cat or Dog (preferably tenderized by a car or truck)
- Sunshine
- Clothespins
- Cork
- Paddle
- Bucket
- Straw
- Scrape your dead possum off of the road.
- Hang your dead possum from a telephone wire using clothespins
- Put a cork in it's bum to prevent delicious liquid from escaping
- Using paddle, beat your dead possum about the stomach
- Leave your dead possum hanging for at least three days in the hot sun, returning daily to beat it about the stomach
- Put a bucket under your dead possum after it has had time to cure in the sun
- Pull cork from your dead possum's bum
- Allow delicious growlie to flow in to bucket and serve
- Using straw, suck growlie from bucket. Enjoy!
